Marek is an early-career researcher, professor, and entrepreneur studying the potential of blockchain and distributed ledger applications to disrupt the technology and business landscape. He also has experience and interest in modelling and simulation of complex social systems, machine learning, data analytics and the design of next-generation participatory decision support platforms.
After earning his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering in 2011 (thesis topic: evolution of behaviour within models of complex social systems) Marek has held several postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Manitoba, York University, and University College London (UCL). Marek is presently teaching in the Master's of Business Analytics graduate program at the Schulich School of Business.
